The coastal and interior towns of the west coast of the Caribbean island of Puerto Rico, provide a great opportunity for people from the crowded and busy cities of the world to experience a different type of vacation. Each West Coast town is a real place, not a manufactured destination point for tourists. Each town has its unique qualities, and each offers the visitor a special experience. Real people live here. As they wrestle with their daily routines, they also manage to escape from the minor hustle and bustle of everyday life. It is a great place for travellers seeking new horizons, and for those interested in the ways of Puerto Rico. Although the spirit of the colonial period is most evident in towns such as Aguadilla, Mayaguez and San German, most western towns have a rich contrast of Spanish heritage and modernism. The combination of colonial and modern architecture is expressed in monumental concrete structures.... Most coastal towns offer miles of grand beaches for sunning, and clear waters for swimming, surfing, and deep sea fishing. Yes, it is no clich, there are sandy beaches, the waters are light blue and cristal clear, and best of all, they are uncrowded !!!!!
